Your buttocks, whether you want it to be larger, smaller, curvier, more firm or simply proportionate to the rest of your body, is a personal preference. Your choice to alter your buttocks is supported by our staff and we’d be happy to offer our opinion and suggestions on how to achieve your desires.
Buttocks augmentation is a fairly simple procedure to alter your gluteal area in accordance with your preferred outcome. The most popular method for enlarging and reshaping your buttocks is done with fat grafting – using your own natural fatty tissue – or with implants. A change to your buttocks can make your clothes fit better, allow you to feel more confident in a bathing suit, provide you with a proportionate body and even give you a more youthful, firm or curvy appearance.
Our buttocks augmentation procedure requires a thorough assessment of your personal and cosmetic goals. We will evaluate your body to make sure you’re a good candidate for the procedure and explain exactly how you can benefit from it. Our mission is to understand your desires, examine your body and determine how we can accentuate your unique features in a way that pleases you.
Who is it for?
If you feel that your buttocks is too small for your body frame, if you feel that you are unbalanced in some way, if you have lost a significant amount of weight or have noticed sagging, excess skin from aging, if your clothes don’t fit properly or if you feel self-conscious in any way and simply want to look and feel differently. It is important that your general health is good.

How it Works
Our plastic surgeon will examine your buttocks to assess the size and shape, what your skin type is, the kind of augmentation you desire and how your body type and medical health history may contribute, and determine whether or not fat grafting is an option. There are two primary methods for buttock augmentation including a fat transfer which uses your natural fatty tissue and implants. The fat transfer takes fat from a different part of your body, such as your stomach, hips, or thighs using liposuction then injects it into your buttocks using syringes. We graft the fat in layers to ensure a smooth reshaping. Implants are ideal for small, flat and undefined figures with limited fatty tissue. We typically make a small incision at the buttocks crease to place silicone implants to inside. The silicone implant is positioned in a pocket below the gluteal maximus muscle and above the pelvic bone for a natural-looking appearance.
Which method is best for me?
Your doctors will need to do a full consultation to determine if fat grafting or implants are best for your body type and desired outcome. If you are very slender with little excess fat, implants may be best. If you have sagging skin and have gone through significant weight loss, fat grafting or a combination of the two procedures may be more effective for you.
Will there be noticeable scars?
It depends on which procedure is performed, but the incisions made for fat grafting are exceptionally small and well placed while implant incisions are strategically placed in the fold between the cheeks or in the crease.
What can I expect on the day of the procedure?
General anesthesia is commonly used, although local or intravenous sedation are also options. Our doctors will monitor your stats throughout the entire process for your safety. After the procedure you will be brought into a recovery area and closely monitored. You will likely be permitted to go home on the day of with a friend or family member.
What is the recovery time?
Depending on what procedure you received, there will be specific instructions provided by your surgeon. For instance, wearing your compression garments, how to take care of the drains, taking antibiotics if necessary and the kind of activities you are allowed to do. You should be up and walking the day following the procedure, but it may take up to 2 weeks before getting back into regular activities. You will need to lie on your stomach or slide while sleeping. Sitting is not suggested. You can expect some bruising or swelling for a few days or weeks. It may be sore, and slightly painful but medication can be prescribed for management.
How long will the results last?
Ideally, under normal circumstances, results should last for the rest of your life.
